paddywagon adventures...

I don't know if this blog should be titled "Paddywagon adventures" or "The giant cement block" but feel free to comment and let me know if i've made a mistake in choosing the former.

On Sunday afternoon, just after I finished leading Ministry Team, Cam told me about his enchanting stroll to McDonald's earlier in the day. You see, as he was walking to the restaurant of happiness and curly red-haired clowns, Jonny Marco climbed atop the large cement box adjacent to the sidewalk to investigate a suspicious looking item. As it would happen, item was none other than a cup of McDonald's coffee. Thinking the cup was empty, he gleefully kicked it in the direction of unsuspecting Cam. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case, and Cam's wardrobe was left accented with a number of lukewarm coffee stains.

As we approached that same giant cement block on the way to dinner, luck would have it that there was yet another cup perched on top. This time Cotter mounted the mighty block and gave the McDonald's pop cup a boot in the direction of the road. As Cam breathed a sigh of relief, a siren blared from behind us. As luck would have it, just as Cotter kicked the cup, a paddywagon pulled over to the side of the road. No, there weren't any robberies, muggings or murders in the area, this paddywagon was for Cotter the litterer. Even the lights were flashing. As quickly as the paddywagon pulled over, the officer was pointing at Cotter and demanding that he walk into the road to pick up his rubbish. Cotter, stunned by the pomp and circumstance surrounding the event, was surprisingly obedient. We all watched as he stepped off the sidewalk into the road and collected the cup and its lid.

Let this be a lesson to all of you.

The moral of today's story: Never kick McDonald's cups off of giant cement blocks. If you do, you may end up in the back of a Vancouver Police Department paddywagon. Afterall, litterers are the worst offenders of the law you'll ever meet.

I, on the other hand, disagree with your title choice. Don't get me wrong, they are both very appropriate titles. However, I do believe that "The Giant Cement Block" would be even MORE fitting. That is all I have to say.

Did I already tell you that I love your blog?? YES! But I'll say it again! I LOVE YOUR BLOG!
